Family Funfest Demolition Derby Rules
SIX CLASSES: Stock, Modified, Compact, Pickup, Mini Van, and Combines.
Start time for Stock, Modified, and Compacts is at 1:30.
Pit gate opens at 10:00 for these vehicles.
Pickups and Mini Vans are during the Combine Derby, which starts at 7:00.
Pit gate opens at 5:00 for these vehicles.
All vehicles must be in the gate 1 hour prior to start time, allow time for lines & parade traffic. No entries after pit gate closes.
Vehicles inspected while on trailer, after entry fee has been paid, and may be inspected after event.
Entry Fee: $20 per vehicle, Entry Fee includes a pit pass for the driver and one pit person.
$20 per additional pit pass.

General Rules
1. Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid drivers license. Anyone under 18 will need to have a legal guardian sign disclaimer. Helmet, eye protection, and a working safety belt is required. Driver must not extend any part of body outside of vehicle during event.
2. Fire ext. required min. 2 lb. BC rated (mainly in case of emergency in the pit area, you may mount in vehicle).
3. All persons entering the pit area must sign a disclaimer form and have purchased an approved pit pass. Each person that enters the pit area understands that they are entering at their own risk and accepts total responsibility for any circumstances that may occur. No one under 14 years of age allowed in the pit area.
4. All glass, chrome and plastic trim, carpet, interior trim, rear seat, headliner, and other nonessential parts (Including Receiver Hitches) must be removed BEFORE arriving at the track. Glass must be removed (not broken inside the door). All airbags must be removed. All combustible materials must be removed from the interior of the car, except the front seat. Please follow this rule unless you would like to help clean the track.
5. No plastic gas tanks (unless in a metal box). Gas tanks must be fastened securely behind the front seat and covered (do not use bungee straps). Make sure the filler tube is secured and sealed.
6. Battery must be fastened securely in the front passenger side compartment and covered to prevent spillage and splashing of battery acid.
7. All vehicles must have an air cleaner and a 10" hole cut in the hood. Hood and trunk must be operable, there may be two bolts on each hood and trunk, not through frame. If exhaust goes through the hood, it needs to be at least 6" above the hood.
8. Must have a tent on roof for car number, minimum 18” wide, 15” height. Must be visible from both sides, use a contrasting color. Do not spray paint numbers on tent, numbers will be placed on tent, first come first served.
9. Two driver protection bars may be installed. These bars, maximum 4” round pipe, to be welded in place. First bar is behind driver from a point on the door post immediately behind the driver to the door post immediately behind the passenger seating area. The second bar is to run through the dash.
These bars cannot be welded to the frame in any place, only to the door post (do not angle the bars to the floor boards). It is suggested to weld a flat plate at the ends of the bars, and to weld plates to the door post. The purpose of the two bars is to protect the driver, not to reinforce the vehicle.
Drivers door may be plated, no longer than 6” past front & rear seams of drivers door.
10. No 4-wheel drives, if the vehicle is four wheel drive, one of the drive shifts needs to be removed.
11. May have a chain around the drive shaft for safety (no welding).
12. No Split Rims. No Wheel Weights.
13. Tranny coolers are allowed, but they must be fastened securely.
14. One fire disqualifies you from the heat, but you may come back for the consolation if there is one.
15. No hitting in the drivers door, if there is intentional hitting in the drivers door you will be eliminated from the heat.
16. If you do not participate in your heat, you can not participate in a consolation, no exceptions, no refund.
17. No alcoholic beverages in the pits until after the derby has finished, anyone caught drinking near a vehicle prior to that will get that vehicle disqualified.
18. No torches in the pits.
19. Sandbagging will not be tolerated.
20. No one is allowed in the pits at any time without a pit pass.
21. Any violation of the rules will result in disqualification, with no refund of entry and may lead to the inability to participate in future events.
22. Any disqualification from a feature heat will result in no payback to that vehicle.
23. ON THE TRACK: Once the heat is over all vehicles are to be shut down and they will be towed to the proper location. Drivers do not get out of your vehicle until it has been towed or driven to the proper location. Pit People do not go on to the track at any time. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY!!!
24. Drivers are responsible remove vehicles within one hour after completion, or it becomes property of the Lions.
Stock Class Rules
1. Car must remain stock! Absolutely no welding and no reinforcing of any kind on the car (No seam welding, No reinforcing of bracing or bolts, and No filling of frame, except as stated in rule #9 under general rules). Rear end may be welded
posi.
2. All doors must be chained, with one single wrap, except as stated in rule #9 under general rules.
3. No bolting of the fenders. No folding of the fenders or body panels.
4. Hood and trunk must be fastened in four to six places (no more or less), you may use no more than four bolts on each hood and trunk, bolts may not be through frame, hinges may be used (angle iron may be used to make hinges, max. 3”x3”), trunk & hood need to be able to open for inspection. No folding trunk lid into trunk (If previously tucked, trunk must be cut/rounded 5 inches from the bend & not contact anything inside trunk for support). No pre-bending trunk up (pre-derbied cars ok).
5. Bumpers must be of the same make of vehicle (ex. GM to GM), and may be
chained (no welding on chain and no wiring on bumper). Bumper mounts may be welded (NO ADDITIONAL BRACING ALLOWED, INCLUDING NO WELDING THE SHOCK).
6. No chaining or bolting of the suspension. No welding or stuffing of the shocks.
7. Body mounts may be modified, stock holes only (washers or plates no to exceed 3”x3”), No additional mounts.
8. Tires must be street legal and rims must remain stock. No skidsteer tires, tractor tires, no sand, cement, fluid or the like in tires and no double tires.
9. No Imperials, Hearses, or ambulances in stock class.
10. No painting or covering of the frame.
11. No using duct tape on the vehicle body or frame.
Compact and Mini Van Class Rules
1. Same rules as Stock Class, Wheel base as follows: Compact car is 105" or less Mini Van is 120” or less.
Modified Class Rules1. Hood and trunk must be fastened in four places, hinges may be used, trunk and hood need to be able to open for inspection. Doors must be fastened in a manner that they will not come open.
2. Bumpers must be of the same make of vehicle (GM to GM).
3. You may have two leaf spring clamps per side one in front of axle and one behind.
4. No solid, sand, cement, fluid or the like in tires. Skid loader and tractor tires are allowed and you may have stem protectors.
5. No filling frames with anything.
Pickup Rules
1. Same rules as Stock Class, plus these additional rules.
2. Must have no tailgate, may use one run of wire across box, in either the middle or back, to help hold box together.
3. Tires no larger than 16.5”.
4. No lift kits, overloaded springs, or helper springs.
5. You may bolt cab to the box in four places, and you may rebolt the cab bolts, no welding.
6. Bumper must be same make and from a pickup.
Combine Rules
1. Any size 2wd self propelled combine.
2. Must use a grain table in a fixed position 18" to 24" from the ground, with reels, guards, cutter
bars and sheet metal removed.
3. Remove auger and cab ladder. Separator must be inoperative.
4. Must have a cab, with no glass and the doors must be welded or chained shut. Or a roll cage
may be used. Cab must have some kind of protection 36" or higher.
5. Fuel tank must be put in the grain tank.
6. All tires must be filled with air and no duals allowed.
7. The motor must remain enclosed by sheet metal.
8. All equipment must be original, no additional reinforcements to head or axles.
9. Must stop machine upon lifting of another machine off wheels, to eliminate tip overs.
10. All equipment must be removed by July 5th.
Payback: Modified: $1000, $500, $250, $100, $75, $50
Stock: $800, $400, $200, $100, $75, $50
Compacts: $300, $100, $50, $40
Pickups & Mini Vans: $400, $150, $50, $40
Combines: $1000, $500, $300, $100 & $300 for each combine that participates.
Payback based on minimum 12 vehicle events, the number of entries will be a factor in determining the final payback.
